Woman arrested in drug distribution case

Tiffany Moreno, 21, of Hastings was arrested Wednesday near Dwight for conspiracy to distribute more than a pound of methamphetamine in the Hastings and Grand Island area. The alleged crime occurred between Jan. 1, 2003, and June 19 of this year. Conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine carries a penalty of 10 years to life in prison, a $4 million fine, not less than five years supervised release and a $100 special assessment. Distribution of methamphetamine carries a penalty of 0 to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine, no less than three years supervised release and a $100 special assessment. Moreno was ordered to be held in jail until her Aug. 28 trial date before U.S. District Judge Warren Urbom. The indictment was announced Thursday by U.S. Attorney Mike Heavican and the Tri-City Drug Task Force.
