The new United States ambassador to Colombia, Curtis Kamman, has promised that Washington will continue to give Colombia military aid to help combat drug trafficking. However, Mr Kamman ruled out any increased US military presence in the country. Mr Kamman’s comments come a month after Washington ended two years of economic sanctions against Colombia, saying the move was in recognition of the country’s fight against drug trafficking. Colombia is still on the US blacklist of countries involved in the drugs trade. Source : news.bbc.co.uk |
