A special police task force in charge of cracking down on illegal sales of the RU486 abortion pill discovered a major distribution network and have arrested several suspects. Police reportedly discovered through questioning that 50 to 60 students have been selling the abortion pills at high schools and universities under the supervision of the main suspect in the case. Sales were conducted on the Internet, and police suspect some teachers may have been involved. Members of the task force already arrested three suspects in August. However, after a new school semester began in September, police discovered that there were other groups of students selling the abortion pill, as well as other drugs such as FM2. Police also suspect that some cram school teachers may also be involved in the illegal sales and may have been encouraging college students to help with online sales efforts. More : taipeitimes.com |
