Local man nets 14 years in prison for drug possession


Possession of more than 25 kilograms of marijuana and 50 grams of cocaine led to a man 14 years in prison if convicted Wednesday in McLean County Court

Donald Emery, 26, 700 block of West Avenue, Orlando normal, was launched in February by the large amount of possession of drugs with intent to release them. The drugs were arrested by the police on July 27 in a room of the Orlando Avenue address.

Charles Reynard judge said he found the testimony of Jeanette Emery, Emery’s wife and co-defendant, to be credible.

Jeanette Emery, 35, was in a prison sentence of 30 months suspended and 180 days in prison for possession of more than 5000 grams of marijuana in a memorandum of understanding with the plea by magistrates Emery’s trial.

Rumley says that defender David Emery never admitted, the subject of drugs in an apartment Emery, he said little in common with his wife and children.

“Jeanette Emery was the chief and drug traffickers,” said Rumley.

Rumley asked a series of six to eight years for Emery and believes that the 26-year-old has the potential to be rehabilitated.

Assistant State’s Attorney Pablo Eves characterized Emery’s decision on the transition to McLean County from Chicago in the year 2007 as a business decision.
