PANAJI: Acting on a tip-off the staff of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) arrested a French national, Laligand Marc at Vagator for the illegal possession of drugs. The police recovered from him xelothane packets containing some powdered ectooy of Cocaine. The entire consignment was valued at Rs 32,000.
The police stated that Marc had been staying in Goa since the last week of November. The ANC team was led by dy SP, Mr Fintan I De Souza and consisted of police inspectors Mr Vincy Paes, Mr Uday Naik, lady ASI, Ms Shamal Naik, constables, Mr Datta Verenkar, Mr Terrence Vaz, Mr Jagdish Shettigar, Mr Vishal Bhimber and Mr Anil Morajle Narvekar.
The police have registered an offence under Section 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act. The case is being investigated by PI, Mr Vincy Paes under the supervision of dy SP, Mr Fintan D’Souza and over-all direction of sr superintendent of police (Crime), Mr Muktesh Chander, IPS.
