Four Chinese men were sentenced to jail time or a cash fine at the Middelburg regional court on Wednesday for making drugs and having equipment worth an estimated R30-million, Mpumalanga police said. Hanmin Liang and Renboa Wang were sentenced to a R50 000 fine or four years imprisonment; Chi-mencheng was given a fine of R100 000 or eight years imprisonment and Wen guang Than was sentenced to 10 years, of which three were suspended for five years. The four, together with three other Chinese men, were arrested “when police raided their farm in Waterval Boven in January”, said Captain Leonard Hlathi.
