Former Police Officer Pleads In ‘Date Rape’ Drug Manufacturing Case

LOS ANGELES — A former Los Angeles policewoman who pleaded no contest to manufacturing the “date rape” drug GHB was sentenced today to four years in a state prison. Heather Sincock faced 11 years in prison for seven drug-related counts, including one felony charge each for manufacturing and transporting GHB. But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Norm Shapiro said he considered mitigating factors — such as her “wonderful family” — in handing down a lighter sentence. Sincock got credit for 181 days, meaning her prison sentences is actually 42 months, of which she’ll “probably serve half,” the judge said. The 25-year-old blonde, who wore a blue jail jumpsuit and looked haggard, wept silently as her sentence was read out. Her parents and three other family members were in the downtown Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday. Deputy District Attorney Valerie Aenlle-Rocha argued for a prison sentence because Sincock “failed every chance this court gave her.” More : knbc.com |
