An Ardmore couple was arrested Friday afternoon when District Attorney Task Force agents found methamphetamine and illicit drug lab items at their Easley Street home.

Bobby Preston was arrested on pending charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Brenda Bridgeman, also known as Brenda Stidham, was arrested on pending charges of possession of methamphetamine. Both were booked into the Carter County Detention Center pending initial arraignment proceedings in district court.

Capt. Leroy Johnson, Ardmore Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, said DATF agents went to the couple’s residence after receiving information concerning potential drug crimes.

“Evidence observed by the agents when they were conducting their initial investigation led them to obtaining a search warrant,” Johnson said.

The Ardmore Fire Department was called in as a precautionary measure during the search while agents executed the search warrant. Agents recovered what Johnson described as “items consistent with a drug lab and narcotics. Johnson said no one was injured as a result of the take down of the lab.
