Gardaí have uncovered what they called “a cannabis plantation“ in Co Donegal. Following up a surveillance intelligence operation, searching officers found a sophisticated drug cultivation plant in a house near the village of St Johnston, close to the border with Northern Ireland. Located in two sheds, the set-up incorporated more than 220 cannabis plants adapted to grow under light heat and liquid. Materials discovered also included 35 gallons of prepared liquid fertiliser, extractor fans, timers, lights and heated trays. There was a total of 95 mature plants and 135 baby ones. Three people were held for questioning under the terms of the Drug Trafficking Act, but two were later released. More : breakingnews.iol.ie |
