A 30-year-old Auckland businessman caught up in the so-called white collar drug ring has been fined $350 for possessing ecstasy. Elliot Worrall is one of five men who have so far pleaded guilty to drugs charges after a police sting in June. Worrall had sought a discharge without conviction after his guilty plea but in court on Friday withdrew it. The judge said it is unfortunate that a man with a great future has been convicted for possessing 55 tablets of a class B drug. Last week TV personality Marc Ellis was fined $300 for buying five ecstasy tablets. Three other men facing multiple drugs charges will be back in court next month. |
