A long-time, local bail bondsman was arrested Tuesday in a narcotics investigation that also netted three other Ardmore people. Rick Feiler, 71, was taken into custody shortly after noon. He was booked into the county jail on pending charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine) and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. By late afternoon, Feiler, a retired police officer and owner of AAA Bail Bonds of Ardmore, had posted a $5,000 bond. Feiler was released pending an initial appearance in district court. Lt. Eric Hamblin, Ardmore Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, said Feiler’s arrest came during an investigation led by APD narcotics officers. Carter County Sheriff’s Department narcotics officers and members of the District Attorney’s Task Force assisted in the investigation that began just hours before Feiler was arrested. The probe also resulted in the arrest of Johnny Arnett on pending charges of possession of CDS (crack cocaine) and took authorities to a house, located at 317 7th Ave. NW where Tannish Wrenn was taken into custody and LaToria Perry was detained. “A search warrant was conducted at the house on 7th Avenue,” Hamblin said. “Recovered was crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $11,500 and 2 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $3,200. A handgun was also recovered at the residence, along with $3,000 cash.” Wrenn and Perry both face a series of charges including trafficking CDS (crack cocaine) possession of CDS (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm after former conviction. Wrenn, 23, was booked into the county jail. Perry was released due to medical problems pending her initial court appearance. Formal charges are expected to be filed against the four within the next few days. More : ardmoreite.com |
