11 Detained In Bulgaria’s Bourgas On Charges Of Drug Distribution

Dimitar Zheliazkov also known as Mitio Ochite and 10 other people were detained in Bulgaria’s coastal city of Bourgas on charges of organising a drug distribution scheme. Investigators followed the work of the group nearly one year, Bourgas Prosecution of Appeal said. Previously police detained two people in Bourgas. The two were arrested while at a drug preparation and distribution depot. Police is looking for several other suspects. The organised group has been functioning since 2000. Police said that the detention of Zheliazkov and his accomplices is unrelated to the shooting that took place in Bourgas on April 2. During a shooting in central part of Bourgas four bystanders were injured. One of them, a student, has been taken to hospital in grave condition. Investigators said that work on the two cases will be separated as much as possible as they were unrelated. The shooting is not connected to quarrels between criminal groups in Bourgas, police said.
